Stress Relief

With the stress of the holidays (one more day!), I thought I'd post a few funny newsbits to help everyone lighten up. I've included a list of stories with the first paragraph. Follow the links for the full story.

It's not unusual for calves to have markings on their foreheads, but a calf born a week ago at a farm in Sterling gives a new meaning to the term "unusual."When the calf was first born, Brad Davis, the calf's owner, didn't see anything unusual about it.Davis said, "At first we didn't notice his marking, until later in the day and his fur dried and then it went back into position and the hair straightened out. That's when we noticed we had something special here."Something special indeed.

Pair find stranger asleep on couch cuddling a bear
PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Authorities said a Mississippi Gulf Coast man apparently thought he was at his girlfriend's place when he wandered into another couple's home and fell asleep on their couch.

Christmas Story: Boise boy licks pole, gets stuck
BOISE, Idaho (AP) - It's become an annual winter tale: A young boy gets his tongue stuck to a metal pole, perhaps as the result of a dare. This year, the scene straight out of the movie "A Christmas Story" unfolded Tuesday morning in Boise with a boy of about 10. Boise firefighters used a glass of warm water to free the unidentified boy from the metal fence pole.

Indiana man caught on bike with stolen Christmas tree
PORTAGE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities said they caught an Indiana man riding a bike while balancing a stolen Christmas tree across the handlebars. Police in Portage said they spotted 48-year-old Phillip Menefee about 1 a.m. Friday riding the bike equipped with a homemade motor but no lights. Police had been investigating motor noise near a Christmas tree lot.

Virgin Mary seen in spray can pancake
GLENDALE, AZ (KOLD) - Comfort food redefined in Glendale, Arizona.

Bianca Lopez says she was looking something easy to feed her family the day before Thanksgiving and decided that pancakes from a Batter Blaster spray can mix would do the trick.

The last cake cooked was unique. Lopez said she recognized it instantly - the Virgin Mary, revealed in golden brown swirls.

Police: Stolen UPS packages sold on eBay
APE CORAL, Fla., Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said a former UPS driver allegedly stole 350 items sent via the shipping service and sold them on eBay
