More Random Facts!

I've been digging, compiling, and keeping an eye out for some neat-o random facts. I've been trying to avoid the typical lists that end up in your inbox and have been trying to verify every fact (who wants to recite and unverified fact and then feel like a dope in front of friends?). And away we go!

The Atlantic Ocean is saltier than the Pacific Ocean.

A group of ferrets is called a business.

Coffee represents 75% of caffeine consumption in the United States.

A baby oyster is called a spat.

NABISCO stands for National Biscuit Company.

A group of unicorns is called a blessing.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard's pet lion fish was named Livingston.

Gorillas, Cats, and elephants all purr while they eat.

A group of owls is called a parliament.

The size, not color, determine how hot a pepper is. The smaller the pepper, the hotter. When it comes to color, green indicates an unripe, although edible, pepper.

Wet or damp hay can mold after it has been baled, thus causing the bales to spontaneously combust. This is why hay is usually baled at 20% or less humidity.

A group of kittens is called a kindle. A group of cats is known as a clowder.

Non-dairy creamer is highly combustible.
